What do you feel about downloading brushes and making your work look fab? See, personally I don't find anything wrong with this, as even if you did make the same effect (which presumably isn't hard), then you'd have to re-make it time by time unless you saved it as a brush.
I download brushes, and yeah, I use them in most of my work. However, it's not just a matter of throwing them about anywhere, it's a case of making it all look good.
Opinions?

I quite rarely download brushes.
On the contrary, I create a lot of brush sets. I never upload them though. : [ I use them fo rmy personal designing.

but with the ones you do download, do you use them? I've created some in the past, but what I create can be found on the net, so I go browsing instead \o/

I don't see anything wrong with people using brushes they downloaded from the web in images they create. I have been to a few graphic boards where people bash 'brushed' images, which is pretty silly if you ask me.
I hardly do any image editing that requires additional brushes, so I don't have any downloaded at the moment.

I do download brushes and I have used them more in the past few years than I probably ever have. I have also made my own brushes. Not a lot, but some and I do use them when I feel they would work well for whatever I'm making.
And about the brush bashing .... that makes me so mad. For one thing, some of the people who put down others for using brushes are the same people who used to use brushes themselves. But suddenly it's not the "it" thing to do. It's just rediculous.
